FAMSA Western Cape is a Non-Governmental Organisation that actively participates in the preservation of family life in all the communities. FAMSA continually look for new ways to make a difference, and build sound relationships in family and community life.
FAMSA community services:
- HIV/AIDS Project – Preventing Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT), Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) and Adherence support services.
- Poverty Alleviation for HIV-affected People – Emergency food relief is provided to HIV and AIDS affected clients.
- Family Foundation Lay Counselling Project – provide an interim counselling and referral service in disadvantaged communities.
- Men Stopping Violence Project – group therapy aimed at rehabilitation of perpetrators of domestic violence.
- Youth Empowerment Project – educational, awareness and preventative programmes.
- After-care for children in Khayelitsha – nutritious meals as well as age-appropriate Life Skills education.
